Income tax shall be deducted from salary of each employee in salary bills in our office. Whereas the district treasuries report only the gross amount deducted towards income tax from this office.The individual tax deductions are not delineated here. TDS return are submitted to Income Tax department every three months to render then the distinct tax amount of each one of us. It is done by four quarters.

Penalty of Rs 200/- is drawn for each day of delay from the defaulters. How to activate net banking service in eTSB account

The salary of the govt employees and teachers will be credited to the etsb account from the month of July 2019. All employees can give direction regarding the percentage of amount to be credited to etsb from salary. The balance amount can be transferred to the existing bank account.

An attractive percentage of interest would be given for the amount deposited in the treasury etsb. But the employees are confused of the facilities that would be made available with etsb. All the services offered by other banks are also provided with etsb account with internet banking. Etsb accounts based on KYC has been generated to all SPARK salaried employees.

How to get eTSB account number?

In SPARK software, Select Employee Name in Salary matters –Changes in the month – Present salary and click ‘go’ button to know etsb account number of the employee. Moreover, all employees might have got their etsb number by mobile sms.

How to avail of internet banking service online?

To activate internet banking services in etsb account, aadhar number and tsb account be linked.
Step 1 Visit the site. Click ‘New User Registration’ link.

Enter etsb account number, aadhar number, mobile number, email id and user id for internet banking in the window that opens. Click ‘next’ button.

Step 2 Now enter the OTP received in mobile and press verify button. Soon a message showing ‘application for internet banking service in tsb submitted successfully’ will be displayed.

 Also, a password to visit internet banking portal within 6 hours would be sent to the mobile.

Step 3 Visit the portal and enter the registered user name and the password sent to the mobile to log in.

Step 4: Reset the login password and also create a transaction password for online banking transactions.
Step 5: After resetting passwords, login again

How to e-file Income Tax Return Online?

The last date to submit returns after IT calculations for the financial year 2018-2019 is August 31st. If one's income before deductions is Rs 2.5 lakh, he should submit returns. The limitation for the same to the senior citizen is Rs 3,00,000 and it is Rs 5,00,000 for the super senior citizen. Those who demand refund for being paid excess tax, also should submit returns even if their income does not come under the purview of tax. Housing loan payers also need submit returns although their income is lesser than that of taxable.

Despite the existence of traditional paper filing facility for submission of IT returns this e-filing is more convenient and easier. Also it is mandatory for the people with taxable income more than Rs 5 lakh to submit returns. e-filing is not possible for people who don't have PAN card.

Is Aadhar mandatory for Income Tax returns?

The present Aadhar holders should link PAN number with Aadhar for submission of IT returns. Others (people not having Aaadhar ) need not do this and their PAN card will not become invalid. In the case of difference in name in Aadhar and PAN card , linking is possible only after correction. A detailed post on how to link Aadhar was published early. Link is available in the close of this section. It should be assured before e-filing whether the form 16 downloaded from TRACES is available from the disbursing officer and confirm the entire tax amount deducted from salary has been credited to IT department is mentioned in Part A of Form 16 as well.

Requisites for Income Tax e-filing

An e-mail account
Mobile number
Form 16 issued by disbursing officer
Bank account number and IFSC code

With these, we can register in the e-filing website of IT department. Those who have already submitted returns can log in by entering their username and password and proceed to next step.

Things to Remember

Income tax returns e-filing facility for the financial year 2018- 2019 or the assessment year 2019 – 2020 is operative in income tax site. Unlike previous year, certain things are changed in the e-filing process. The things to remember while submitting income tax returns of the financial year 2018 -2019 online are given below.

Income Tax Return and Verification

Income Tax and Bank Deposit

The interest for bank deposits (mainly fixed deposits ) must be included in the income. If not, they would get notice because the bank might report the interest amount sanctioned, to the income tax department not considering whether the bank has collected the tax amount or not. When income like fixed deposit interest is left out by us in tax calculation and the same is added later, the amount paid towards tax may become insufficient. Under such conditions, we will have to remit tax directly. Lack of knowledge on this may cause many difficulties. If we have any of the internet facilities like internet banking, debit card (ATM card) etc, such kind of taxes can be paid easily by us and there is no need to visit banks. How to Download Form 16 from TRACES

Remember to ask for form 16 downloaded from TRACES from your disbursing officer before e-filing returns. Only after filing TDS of 4th quarter, e-filing can be done. May 30th is the last date to file 4th quarter of TDS. Hence you may have to wait till then for updation of your tax details. How to Process Pay Revision Arrears in Spark

Processing Fourth Installment of Pay Revision Arrears

The fourth installment of Pay Revision  Arrear amount along with interest rate 7.6% per annum for the period from 01-04-2018 to 30-09-2018 will be paid in cash to the state govt employees. The fourth installment of Pay revision arrear bill preparation steps are discussed in the following PDF file.

Processing Third Installment of Pay Revision Arrears

The arrears on account of pay revision for the period from 01.07.2014 to 31.01.2016 will be paid in cash in four equal installments. The option for processing the 3rd installment of Pay Revision arrears in accordance with GO(P) No.50/2018/Fin Dated 26.03.2016 has been enabled in SPARK Software.

Before processing the 3rd installment arrear, DDOs are instructed to read the circular Circular No 34/2018/Fin dated 23.04.2018.(Click here to read the circular).

The steps to be followed in SPARK for generating third installment of Pay revision arrear is given below.

Step 1: Confirm Encashment Details

Before Processing the third Installment, confirm the Treasury encashment details of the second installment of pay revision arrear bill. (Select Salary matters-> Encashment Details -Select SPARK code of the first installment Pay Revision Arrear Bill,but in the case of reprocessed bills you should select reprocessed bill).
Draft bill option is not available for 3rd installment of pay revision arrears.The user may proceed with Make bill option for the 3rd installment.

Step 2: Make the 3rd installment Pay revision Arrear Bill

For generating the 3rd installment bill, Click on Accounts->Make Bill from Pay Roll option. Bill will be listed in  Make Bill from Pay roll option for doing make bill, Click on Make bill button and then you may able to view the links for generating the Bills and Schedules in the Make bill from Pay Roll option.

Step 3:Generate Pay Revision Arrear Bill

After make bill option, click Salary Matters->Pay revision 2014->Pay revision arrear->Pay revision Arrear Bill. Take print out of the bill(Third Installment).

Step 4: E submit Bill

Go to Accounts ->Select Bills->Click the option E-submit Bill

Step 5: View bill status

To view the bill status, go to Accounts->Bills->View submitted Pay bills
If the bill status seen as treasury objected, then this bill can be cancelled through the option Accounts->Cancel bill

How to Register in Samagra Portal?

As part of the General Education Protection Mission of the Govt of Kerala, all the educational institutions in the state are becoming Hi-tech schools and the class rooms elevated to smart class rooms. While the class rooms shaped into a hi-tech level become functional, it would be well-equipped along with necessary facilities so that the lessons can be transacted effectively through those technical educational aids. Moreover, the text books in the future, would have units with ICT referred resources or units prepared with the aid of Information and Communication Technology.

The teachers and the students of the upcoming generation will have the optimum use of educational technology for class room transactions irrespective of arts or science subject. Such innovations in the educational process would demand the teachers and the learners of the digital resources for effective teaching and learning process. This demands a common platform for teachers to present in a consistent and constructive manner before the students and to share among the teachers also.

To meet such requirements and to satisfy the needs, IT@School(KITE), under the supervision of SCERT, has prepared an e-resource management portal called Samagra.

How to Register in Samagra Portal?

Step 1: Type on the address bar using any of the web browser.
Step 2: Here you can see this window. As marked in this illustration, click ‘sign-up

Step 3: After entering all the details, click ‘sign-up

NB: Spaces are not allowed in the user name.
Step 4: The message as given below in the illustration would appear, once the registration is done successfully.

If the registration is over, you should contact your District IT coordinator/Principal/School IT coordinator to approve your application. Only after the approval of your application, you will be able to proceed further. It is the duty of the IT coordinator/Principal to approve the teachers who have done ‘sign up’ in Samagra. As soon as the the teachers register in Samagra, they should approve them without any delay.

Step 5: If your application is approved by the higher level authority, enter username and password to log in. 
After successful log in, the window below would appear.

Step 6: Let us get familiar with the menu below.
Here classes from 1-12 are available. The information about necessary classes can be collected from here.

Step 7: Three types of plans are available in ‘Planning’ menu. You can select according to your need.

Step 8: Your Samagra account related things can be set in ‘Accounts’ menu. There is a facility for changing password, signing out from account etc.
Step 9: If you forget password, you can restore your pass word by using the ‘Forgot Password’ menu as in the picture.
Step 10: The window as shown in the picture below can be seen while you click ‘forgot password’ menu. Click ‘get by SMS’ after entering the already registered mail id. You will get a SMS to your mobile. To log in, use the user id and pass word sent by SMS. But, user id can’t be changed.

How to Process Earned Leave Surrender in Spark ?

Those who have spent holidays in Mid-Summer vacation by engaging themselves in official duties are eligible to avail of earned leave. Duties can be manifold types like valuation of answer script,teacher training programmes,election duty,census etc.People who were occupied with such assignments can surrender their earned earned leave for encashment. Leave surrender bill should be prepared by using SPARK software. Along with the surrender bill processing through SPARK, the proceedings to be submitted,recommendation letter,application form for leave should be readied. The two softwares for the preparation of these documents are introduced here. The first one is for the Gazetted officers and the second one is for the Non-Gazetted/Aided staff.
ELS-4-SDO for Processing leave surrender of Gazetted Officers
For the encashment of the earned leave of the gazetted officers,the proceedings should be prepared by the Head of the institutions to be sent to the AG's Office and the pay slip would be sent from the AGs Office. ELS-4-SDO is a software utility prepared by Sri.Alrahiman to prepare the necessary documents such as proceedings,letter of recommendation from the head of the institution,leave application form. Various kinds of earned leave can be surrendered in this at a time. For instance , there is a facility to surrender different duties like valuation duty,election duty,vacation training programmes for teachers etc:- Any such duties from the year 2005 can be surrendered together whereas the KSR states that maximum number of days of duty in a year is limited to 30 days. Earned Leave Surrender Bill Processing in SPARK
Step 1: 
(For the Non-gazetted /employees of aided institution it is sufficient to complete step 1. Gazetted officers should follow from step 2)
Log in to SPARK and click on the menu -Service Matters-Leave-Leave Accounts. As the window opens then select the employee.Then tick mark be done in the radio button EL in leave type and also in Enter Opening Balance on Subsequent Date. (The employees surrendering leave for the first time should select the option-Enter Opening Balance). Give the date of leave surrender or a date before it in As on Date column in next fields. Enter the number of days allowed for leave surrender against No of Days.
Step 2:
(Gazetted officers should confirm the updation of AG Surrender slip in SPARK before proceeding to step 2)
Click on the Menu-Service Matters-Leave-Leave Surrender Order. Then enter Sanction No, Sanction Date and select the employee to give Application Date , No of Days , As on Date etc:-
Step 3:
Next click on the menu-Salary Matters-Processing-Leave Surrender. When the screen opens for the entry of details next, select DDO code and Bill Type. Details of leave surrender employee will be listed. Tick the name of the employee whose bill is to be submitted.
Step 4:
Click next, Salary Matters-Bills and Schedules-Leave Surrender-Leave Surrender Bill. As you enter the DDO code,Year, Month etc, the bill details can be seen.Click on the select button to take the print out of Surrender bill and bank/TSB account statement.

Applications are invited for the Entrance Examinations for admission to Professional Degree Courses in the State for the year 2017-18. Candidates can apply online on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations from 1st February 2017 to 9th March 2017.
Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination will be conducted on 24th and 25th of April 2017. The State will conduct Entrance Examination for admission to Engineering Courses only.They will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course and Medical & Allied courses. However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) on or before 10.06.2017. How to Link Aadhaar to PAN Card

The Income tax department made it compulsory to link PAN card with Aadhaar and made it easy for taxpayers to link their PAN with Aadhaar. The Tax payers are directed to use the simplified process to complete the linking of Aadhaar with PAN as early as possible. This will be useful for E-Verification of Income Tax returns. This new feature does not even require to login or register at the e- filing website.
Steps to link Aadhaar with PAN
Step 1: Type in your browsers address bar.

Step 2: Click the 'Link Aadhaar' available on the left portion.

Step 3: Provide PAN Card No, Aadhaar no. and enter your Name Exactly as given in Aadhaar Card, Type the CAPTCHA code displayed in the screen and finally click the Link Aadhaar Button.

Step 4: Now the portal will display the message "Aadhar PAN Linking is completed successfully"

In some case where Aadhaar name is completely different from name in PAN, then the linking will fail and taxpayer will be prompted to change the name in either Aadhaar or in PAN database. To update your PAN details follow the link or To update your Aadhaar card details please follow the link
