Higher Secondary Merit Scholarship for BPL Students

First year higher secondary students can apply for BPL scholarship now. The scholarship amount would be Rs 5000 per annum. Selection will be completely based on marks. The BPL category students studying in Higher Secondary first year can submit their application. Once they qualify for the scholarship, they would be eligible to get the same in the second year too. But the students should have secured minimum. D+ grade in all subjects in their annual exam.

Scholarship Category
The scholarship is allotted in 3 categories.
1. General category
2. SC/ST community
3. Sports/Arts/Differently abled category

Selection Committee
A selection committee should be formed at the school level to find out the deserving students. The school level selection committee consists of following members -
1. Principal(Chairperson).
2. Headmaster/Headmistress of the school
3. PTA President
4. Staff Secretary
5. A representative of the teaching staff
One of the members shall be a woman.

Selection Criteria
The students from General category who become eligible to get the scholarship should be selected by the school level selection committee. The application and details of SC/ST Category students selected for the scholarship should be forwarded to the Review Committee at the district level for its approval and for Sports / Arts / Differently abled category, it should be forwarded to the Director of Higher Secondary Education.

WGPA of grades awarded in the 10th standard is considered for the eligibility. If there are more applicants with equal marks, below said things should be taken into consideration for selecting the student.
i.Students whose parents are no more.
ii.Children of unwedded mothers.
iii. Candidates whose mother is a widow or legally separated or divorced or unwedded mothers.
iv. Students whose father alone is alive.
v. Candidates whose parents suffer from incurable disease like cancer, heart ailments, leprosy. TB, AIDS, Kidney ailments, stroke related paralysis, and lunacy.
vi. Children of differently abled parents.
vii. Either father or the mother engaged in any traditional industries like coir, cashew, beedi, handloom, pottery, brick or tile making industries, Match industries, etc.
viii. Parents having no land or house of his/her own.

How to Apply?
The school authorities should inform the first year Higher secondary students of the BPL scholarship. The application format is given below. Last date 14-12-2020. 

Aadhar linked bank account is mandatory for the applicants. The applications received should be scrutinized by the selection committee and the selected be intimated. The scholarship amount would be credited to the bank account.

District Merit Scholarship Scheme-How to Apply ?

Online Fresh and Renewal applications are invited from the students who passed with A+ grade to all subjects in SSLC examinations in March 2020 for the District Merit Scholarship 2020-21. Applications are to be submitted online in the scholarship website of Department of Collegiate Education, The eligible candidates will be awarded Rs.1250/- and a merit certificate. Snehapoorvam Scholarship Scheme to Orphan Students

Snehapoorvam scholarship is for the students whose father or mother or both have passed away. The scholarship amount is from Rs.3000/- to Rs.10,000/- every year. Snehapoorvam scholarship is sponsored by the Social Security Mission of the State Govt as fincancial assistance for education to the students whose father or mother or both have expired. It is Rs.3000/- every year for children below 5 years and for students studying from 1st to 5th standard. From 6th to 10th standard students would get Rs.5000/- a year and it is Rs.7000/- for students studying in plus two or equivalency courses. Rs.10000/- is given as scholarship for students of degree or professional degree courses.

This privilege is available for the students of govt or aided institutions only. Students studying in orphanages are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Among the applicants, the BPL category would be given priority. (certificate and copy of ration card should be produced) In the case of APL category, the annual income should not exceed Rs.20,000/- and for those dwelling in cities, it can be up to Rs.22,000/. The income certificate from the revenue officer should be produced as a proof of this. A join account of students in their name and their parents’ in any of the nationalized banks is must. The copy of pass book where the photos of both of them (join account holders) are pasted should be attached with the application. The copy of Aadhar card of the students also be submitted along with the application.

The application can be submitted with necessary documents in the institution of study. The head of the institution should verify this before uploading for online submission of the application. Children below 5 years can submit their applications recommended by the District Child Welfare Committee in person. The last date for submission of applications is November 30, 2020.

Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship for Forward Communities

Online applications are invited for the Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship for the academic year 2020-21 from students belonging to economically backward forward communities. Under this scheme, the students of economically backward forward communities will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Under this scheme scholarships will be given to students studying from high school level to post graduation.

Applicants should be from non-reservation forward community and a resident of Kerala. Annual income of the family should be less than 2 lakhs based on all sources. Only online applications are accepted. The scholarship amount for Higher Secondary students is Rs.4000/- every year

In order to process the scholarship application, applicant must provide the following documents.
1.Institution certificate(Download)
2.Income certificate (original) from village office.
3.Copy of mark list of SSLC
4.Copy of the 1st page of pass book in the name of applicant ( should have Name, Account No, IFSC Code, Address etc)

Prof.Joseph Mundasserry Scholarship for Full A+ Holders

Applications are invited for Prof.Joseph Mundasserry Scholarship Award from the students belonging to BPL group, studied in Kerala govt or aided institutions and who have scored A+ grade in all subjects in the SSLC/Higher Secondary/VHSE exam of the academic year 2019-20. Only the natives of Kerala, belonging to any of the minority religions like Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddah, Parsis, Jain etc are eligible to apply. In the absence of the sufficient BPL applicants, the students whose annual family income does not exceed Rs.8 lakh, will also be considered. It is granted in the ratio of 80:20 for Muslims and other minority groups respectively. 

Each eligible student would get Rs.10000/- as scholarship amount. Merit cum income limit would be the selection criteria. The applicants must be account holders of any branch of a Nationalised Bank.

4.After applying online, click view/print Application to take the print out of it.
5.The print out of the registration form should be submitted to the head of the institution of the student along with the documents given in the next section.

What documents do I need to submit with application ?

1. Applicant’s registration print out with photo pasted on it.
2. Copy of mark list of SSLC / PlusTwo/ VHSE.
3. Copy of the 1st page of pass book in the name of applicant ( should have Name, Account No, IFSC Code, Address etc)
4. Copy of Aadhar card or NPR card.
5. Copy of Ration card.
6. Copy of Nativity certificate.

1. The submitted documents of the applicant be verified online by the head of the Institution / Teacher in charge of it.

3. Approval of applications by the head of the institution after scrutiny
4. Income certificate should be attached with the application

6. More attention should be paid in verifying the bank account details
7. Head of the institution should have verified all applications and accepted it before the due date

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for Girl Students

Applications have been invited for the Beegum Hazrat Mahal(Earlier known as Maulana Azad National Scholarship) National Scholarship for Girls 2020-21. Only Girl Students who are studying in class 9th to 12th and belonging to National Minorities, (i.e. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis) can apply. Applicants Should have secured not less than 50% marks (in aggregate) in the previous class. Family income of the student should be less than Rs. 2,00,000/-.

The amount of scholarship for class 9th and 10th is 10000. For class XI and XII,the scholarship amount is 12000. The scholarship amount will be sanctioned for expenditure on School Tuition fees, Purchase of Text Books, Hostel fees and other stationery charges.

The amount of scholarship will be credited to bank account. It is compulsory for all students to apply in Online Mode. Last Date for online Application: 28.11.2020. LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship for Financially Backward Students

Life Insurance Corporation of India has invited applications from the financially backward students for LIC Golden Jubilee scholarship for higher studies-Medicine, Engineering, Diploma, Vocational Courses, ITI and Plus two courses in government and self finance colleges and universities. 20 registered scholarships - 10 for boys and 10 for girls would be given from each divisional centre of LIC for all courses except Plus Two for which 10 special girls' child scholarship are being given. To avail of the scholarship for higher studies, plus two pass with minimum 60 percentage of marks is essential whereas 10th pass with 60 percentage of marks is mandatory for vocational courses including ITI. Moreover, the students should have 55 percentage of marks in the exam in the case of professional courses and 50 percentage for Science and Commerce courses for availing of this scholarship uninterruptedly.

Eligibility for Special girls' child Scholarship

Those who passed SSLC in 2018-19 and studying in plus two now will be considered for this scholarship. Their annual family income should not be more than 1 lakh rupees. . In the case of more applicants, priority will be given to those with low income. 

Only one child from each family deserves this privilege. The self employed parents should submit a 'Declaration' in a non judicial stamp paper as proof of income. Others should produce the certificate from their higher authority. The ownership certificate should be attested by the revenue officer. The scholarship amount will be credited to the bank account of the scholars. It would be Rs. 20,000 per year till the end of the course and would be disbursed in three installments and for Plus two course the girl child would get Rs. 10000/year.

Inspire Scholarship for Plus Two Toppers

Inspire Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) is the scholarship offered by the Department of Science and Technology for the study of Basic/Natural Science at the degree level.

The different courses in this scholarship scheme are - B.Sc (3years), B.Sc (Hon’s, 4 years), B.S course of 4 years duration, 5 years – Integrated M.Sc / M.S etc. The applicant should have joined for the degree course programme in any one of their 18 science subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Astro Physics, Astronomy, Electronics, Anthropology, Micro Biology, Geophysics, Geo Chemistry, Atmospheric science and Oceanic Science.

The scholarship amount would be Rs.80,000/- per annum. It can be availed of for 5 years maximum, subject to the conditions. ( till the completion of M.S / M.Sc course programme).

The applicant should have passed the plus two level exam in the year itself. Moreover he/she should satisfy one of the conditions of eligibility. If the applicant is one of the top 1% of students who scored high marks in the plus two board exam or one of top 10,000 rank holders in AIPMT / JEE (main) /JEE (Advanced) in the year, he/she will be eligible to apply.

All KVPY/NTSE/JBNSTS scholars and International Olympiad Medalists can apply. Students joined in 4 year B.Sc / 5 year Integrated M.Sc in Basic / Natural Science in IIT on the basis of their JEE (Advanced) rank, those who joined in IISER, NISER, DAECBS and the students of first year degree course / Integrated programme in any one of the universities on the basis of their rank in AIPMT / JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) also can apply.
