Dr.Ambedkar Post-matric Scholarships for Economically Backward Class Students

Update: Last date extended to 27th November 2019.
The students of the forward communities whose annual income is not above 1 lakh can apply before 27th of November 2019 to avail of Dr Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship. This help is being rendered by the Kerala State Forward Community Welfare Corporation. The application can be submitted by post to The Managing Director, L2, Kuleena, Jawahar Nagar, Kowdiar P.O, Trivandrum 695003. 


Bank account is must for all the applicants. No other Government scholarship or stipend can be availed of along with this. Students belonging to general category and studying in government schools only are eligible for this scholarship. Two male children of each parent can get this benefit whereas there is no restricted number in the case of female children. 


Maintenance allowance for each month is as given below. 11th std, 12th std, ITI, Polytechnic, Diploma - Rs. 260/month , but for students not staying in hostel it would be Rs.160/month. Apart from these, admission, tuition, games, magazine, medical fee and maximum of rupees 900/year towards study tour will also be given. 

How to Apply ?

Application form and detailed notification are available in the website. Application along with the copies of certificate should be sent by post to the Managing Director. It should be attested by the School Principal. The envelop must be superscribed with “Application for Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship”. The last date for the receipt of applications is 27th of November 2019.

1. Post Matric Fresh/Renewal Scholarship (PMS) for students belonging to Minority communities
Online applications are invited for the Post-Matric Fresh/Renewal Scholarship (PMS) for the academic year 2020-21 from students belonging to minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Buddhists, Sikh and Parsee) to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

The Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is an online Scheme. Applications are to be submitted online in the Portal of the Ministry of Minority Affairs. There are two types of Registration, Fresh Application and Renewal Application. Student Applying for the first time in the portal should compulsory register as fresh Students. Those Students who got scholarship last year through National Scholarship Portal and the same course is continuing for another year will be considered as renewal.

Post Matric Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents does not exceed Rs.2 lakh. Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order. The documents needed to be uploaded on Portal while applying for scholarship are:-
The documents are required to be uploaded (for both Fresh & Renewal Scholarships) only if the eligible claim of scholarship is more than Rs. 50,000/- per student.

2.Post-Matric Fresh/Renewal Scholarship (PMS) for students with disabilities
Scholarship under this scheme will be available for students with disabilities studying in class XI and XII .The students having less than 40% disability are not eligible and the annual income of whose parents does not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh. The scholarship amount will be directly credited in to the account of the beneficiaries. No Documents are required to be uploaded on the portal. Students have to submit their documents to their respective school. Last date for Online Submission of the Application by students is 31.10.2020.
