Higher Secondary Second Year(Plus Two) SAY/Improvement Exam 2020

Update: Higher Secondary Second year SAY/Improvement Examination 2020 will be conducted on 22nd September 2020.  Time Table & Notification published.

The SAY or Improvement exam for the Second year Higher Secondary exam of March 2020 is to be conducted after making certain changes in it. 

What is Plus Two SAY/Improvement exam? 

SAY exam is for the students who have failed in their second year exam to appear again in the subjects they have failed so that they would not lose a year. Improvement exam is conducted to improve the score in their subjects they have already passed. There is no restriction in the number of subjects one can appear for SAY exam. The students can write all the subjects they have failed whereas in the case of Improvement exam, the students can do for only one subjects

Even if the students can't get through the failed subject after writing SAY exam, such students will have to appear for the first year Improvement exam and the Second year exam after that, for the failed subjects.

Plus Two SAY/Improvement Exam Fee 

The details of Second year Higher Secondary SAY and Improvement exam are given below:-

Plus Two SAY:
1.Subject without Practical: 150/Subject
2.Fee for Practical Exam: 25/Subject
3.Fee for Certificate: 40

Plus Two Improvement:
1.Fee for Improvement Exam: 500/Subject
2.Fee for Certificate: 40

How to apply?

The application and fee for the second your Higher Secondary SAY and Improvement examination should be submitted to the principal of the same school where the students had written the March exam 2020.

Plus two SAY/Improvement Exam 2020-Time Schedule

The last date for submitting application for SAY/Improvement exam 2020 is 25th August 2020(without fine)
The last date for submitting application for SAY/Improvement exam 2020 is 27th August 2020(with a fine of Rs 600)

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) Fellowship

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) is a program by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students of Basic Sciences to take up research careers in Science. The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in research.

Who can apply for KVPY?

The eligibility streams for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) are.

1. Stream SA: Students enrolled in 10+1(XI) Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2020-21 and having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the X Standard Board examination. The students under this stream will be mentored for one year. Their fellowship will be activated when they enroll in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) after XII Standard(10+2) securing a minimum of 60% (50%for SC/ST/PWD) mark or equivalent grade in science subjects.

2. Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (10+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2020-21 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. for the session 2020–21 provided they have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination. They must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII/(10+2) standard Board Examination before taking up the fellowship, if awarded.

3. Stream SB: Students enrolled in the 1st year of undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. during the academic year 2020-21 and having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the (10+2)/XII Standard Board Examination. In the 1st year final examination of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. they must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks before taking up the fellowship, if awarded.

Important Dates:

Last date for submitting online application: 5th October 2020 at 5 PM
Download Admit Card: 2nd week of January 2021
KVPY Exam: 31st January 2021.

Application Fee:

The application fees for KVPY-2020 are as follows:
For General/OBC Category: Rs. 1250
For SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 625

KVPY Aptitude Test 2020 will be held online in the following cities across Kerala:
Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kannur, Kasaragod, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur

Monthly Fellowship

Based on the performance in the KVPY aptitude test, short-listed students will be asked to appear for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. The fellowship for the students selected under the stream SA/SX/SB will be started after the XII Standard/ (+2) / I year UG, only if they pursue an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences, that are, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Environmental Science or Geophysics.

During 1st to 3rd years of - B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S. Rs. 5000/Month+ Rs. 20000(Annual Contingency Grant)

During M. Sc. / 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc. /M.S./M.Math./M.Stat. Rs. 7000/Month+Rs. 28000((Annual Contingency Grant))

How To Apply?

Candidates should read the instructions given on the KVPY website carefully before attempting to fill the online application. Application for KVPY-2020 must be done online only. Following are the steps to complete your application successfully.

Step 1. Visit the KVPY Portal. Click on the link KVPY Online registration 2020 and follow the instructions.

Step 2: Fill the Registration form
Step 3. Filling personal and academic details, test centres, upload photo, signature and other certificates
Step 4. Payment of application fees.(Credit Card, ATM-Debit Card or Net Banking).

What is the syllabus for the KVPY aptitude test 2020 ?

There is no prescribed syllabus for the aptitude test. However, students are tested for the syllabus up to class X/XII/1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. as applicable.
