Ecosense Scholarship, also known as the Vidyarthi Haritha Sena Scholarship, is a new initiative approved by the Kerala Government to promote environmental awareness among students. The annual award offers 1,500 and a certificate to students who contribute innovative ideas for keeping their surroundings clean and green. It is part of the state’s Malinyamuktham Navakeralam (Garbage-Free New Kerala) mission.

Objectives of the Ecosense Scholarship
- Promote scientific waste management and eco-friendly practices.
- Develop green skills among students for a sustainable future.
- Encourage creative, practical solutions to local waste management problems.
- Reduce waste through student-led community projects.
- Foster responsible consumption and sustainable living habits.
Why the Ecosense Scholarship Matters
The Ecosense Scholarship is more than just financial aid—it is a movement to nurture young environmental leaders. Students become Student Green Ambassadors who take part in waste reduction, recycling, and awareness programmes that positively impact their schools and communities.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to students studying in classes 6 to 11. Selection is based on the originality and practicality of their project ideas rather than academic marks.
How to Apply
The Ecosense Scholarship is implemented jointly by the Local Self-Governments Department, the General Education Department, and the Suchitwa Mission. Details regarding applications, deadlines, and selection procedures will be shared through schools each year.
