Kerala Educational Calendar 2026-27

General education department has published the educational calendar for Primary, Secondary, Higher secondary and Vocational Higher secondary schools under General education department. The activities of each year are orchestrated as per the academic calendar published by the education department. Right from the beginning of the academic year to the end (June - May), all activities can be carried out with the help of the calendar.  

Examination

According to the educational calendar, 

Higher Secondary First Term examination will begin from 10th August 2026. 

Second term examination will begin from 11th December 2026. 

Model exam for higher secondary first and second year students expected on 10th February 2027. 

The higher secondary public examination for the academic year 2026-27 is on 2nd March 2027. 

Dates in the calendar are tentative.

School youth festival for the academic year 2026-27 starts from August.

Science Fair for the academic year 2026-27 starts from the month of August

School Holidays

Apart from public holidays, the closing and reopening dates after Onam, Christmas and summer vacation are given in the educational calendar.

School closes for Onam vacation on August 21

School reopens after Onam vacation on September 1

School closing date for Christmas  December 18

School reopening date after Christmas December 28

School closes for Mid Summer Vacation March 31
