Kerala General Educational Calendar for Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools

General education department has published the educational calendar for Primary, Secondary, Higher secondary and Vocational Higher secondary schools under General education department. The activities of each year are orchestrated as per the academic calendar published by the education department. Right from the beginning of the academic year to the end (June - May), all activities can be carried out with the help of the calendar.  As per the calendar, Higher secondary will have 202 working days and vocational higher secondary will have 227 working days.

Examination

According to the educational calendar, First Term examination will begin from 24th August 2022. Second term examination will begin from 12th December 2022. Model exam for higher secondary second year students expected on February 2022. The higher secondary public examination for the academic year 2022-23 is on march 2023. Dates in the calendar are tentative.

Apart from public holidays, the closing and reopening dates after Onam, Christmas and summer vacation are given in the educational calendar.

School reopens after Onam vacation on September 12

School closing date for Christmas  December 23

School reopening date after Christmas January 3

School closes for Mid Summer Vacation March 31
